Retired sound from racing 3½ years ago.
During that time, he has assisted in breaking in countless thoroughbreds, been a reliable companion on the track, barrier training and taught trackwork. He is quiet but not for raw beginner. Leave in the paddock for six months, throw a saddle straight on, and put back to work. No longer required, he is currently enjoying life in the paddock. Would suit a wide range of disciplines. He would also make an ideal trial rider or all-round pleasure horse. Alf is an easy keeper, thriving primarily on grass, and is sound and comfortable barefoot.
