Imagine a Golden Retriever x Border Collie type personality in a horse, that's Morgundis.

She is incredibly friendly, sweet, fun to work with and absolutely loves to have a job, Everyday she's waiting for you and ready to part of the action.

Was started under saddle summer 2025 and just brought back into proper work June, July 2026 with trainer. Has done super well. At this point she is preferring to be ridden in a bitless bridle. Has been ridden in a snaffle before and could go either way with the right bit. Been out and about with and without company. Catches herself, floating and farrier easy.

She has the potential to suit a wide range of disciplines and owners/riders. Suit confident intermediate onwards rider or above. Suitable for capable teenagers and adults. Has had exposure to children, dogs and random farm animals.

I just broke my drought of not riding a horse for nearly 6 years riding Morgundis in July 26 at the trainers. So if this 52 year old, rusty, fairly uncoordinated rider can feel super safe on this greenish/lovely mare then she is likely to suit a huge range of riders. Moves off the seat so nicely, knows her leg aids and responsive brakes.

Morgundis could also make a lovely breeding prospect, coming from excellent bloodlines that consistently create quality riding horses. Her father Haukur ( Hawk) was imported from Iceland in 2009. He was a talented competition horse in Iceland and has introduced many people to the Icelandic Horse breed at Equitana, various clinics and lessons here in Australia. Her mum Laena was my riding horse for some years between babies. Also my heart horse, teaching me so much and growing my confidence.

Icelandic Horses are "Gaited Horses" Morgundis is genetically tested AA - for the gait gene. Meaning she is 5 gaited - has tolt and pace as well as the other normal horse gaits. Although we haven't been "training" tolt - it is just there and she does tolt very naturally. All other gaits are well separated and can ask for them.

Morgundis is an Icelandic name which means the "Morning Fairy"
