12-year-old part-bred APSB gelding, approximately 12.3hh (unofficially measured).
I purchased him earlier this year after being told he was well handled, however it quickly became apparent that he had very limited handling despite being shown as a yearling. He then spent approximately 11 years living in a paddock with minimal interaction.

Since owning him, he has come a long way. He will allow a halter to be put on and removed, can be led around quietly, and is learning to trust people. He remains uncertain and nervous, so everything needs to be done calmly and at his pace. I can comfortably handle his front legs and run my hands over most of his body, but he is still worried about his hind legs and requires further consistent work.
Importantly, he has never shown any nastiness, aggression, kicking, biting or dangerous behaviour. He is simply a very unsure pony who lacks confidence and experience.
He will float, however he becomes stressed and sweaty during travel, so additional training and confidence-building in this area would be beneficial.
He would suit an experienced horse person looking for a rewarding groundwork project. He is not suitable for beginners or as a child's pony in his current stage of training.
This is a very difficult sale, but I am looking for a pony that my daughter can ride and enjoy now. I simply do not have the experience or time required to continue giving Shaun the consistent training he deserves.
A knowledgeable and patient home is far more important than a quick sale.
