If you are after a fun well educated schoolmaster type of western horse, Chevy is your boy!
20 years young. A very genuine horse.
Don't let his age put you off, he’s lived a very easy life and in excellent health.
Great conformation and bone. Can be pulled out of the paddock a couple of times a year and still remain chilled.
Chevy is a big solid unit, well educated in western. Great stop, roll backs, turn on haunches, neck rein, side pass, walk to canter etc. Great to do obstacles with, - eg, poles, gates, turns etc Has had minimal riding this year so is quite unfit however still maintains lovely pace. Is super comfy to ride bare back.
Excellent to catch,(he will catch you) shoe, worm, clip, wash etc. Shod every 6 weeks, front shoes if riding on trails. Teeth, worming, etc up to date.
No need for lungeing.
Has a very big and comical personality. Absolutely loves people. A very in your pocket type of horse. Exceptionally good doer.
His only unfortunate vice is floating. He has always been difficult to load. He will get on an angle load usually within 5mins but dislikes straight loads. He will travel quietly on an angle load but sweats up. It is due to this reason, he has had limited outings with me and due to his size and strength, I cannot do on my own.
Best described as a real dude by instructors, farriers and other horsey professionals. No buck, bolt or rear.
He is still after all, a horse and will snort and grow a hand higher if he sees something scary but definitely no dirt in him. A competent and confident rider will really enjoy him.
Lived most of his life on a farm so is used to lots of noise, tractors, kangaroos, dogs, cattle etc
Come and meet / ride him, you will love him.
Prefer no beginners or nervous riders as he is very smart.
