Tucker is a stock horse cross with a heart of gold and a real want to please. He has a lovely action in the trot and a steady canter that just needs to find its balance. Before coming to us tucker did not have a huge amount of education, he had just been used as a get on and go type to go chase cows or go on a trail ride. He had ridden in the bush and done Creek crossings, always having a can do attitude. He has now had a bit more of a focus on finding his balance, working over his back, softening up his mouth aids, and having more confidence in his movement and where to put his legs in the arena. He has shown the beginnings of a good stop and decent turns and also will hold himself together in a low English frame and play dressage pony. He definitly takes his confidence from his rider and would suit a confident rider to continue developing him.
Tucker is not suitable to a nervous rider and this is why he is finding his new home, a combination of an upset stomach, a slip in the paddock that a chiro has since cleared, and him not having the confidence that his rider could guide him through a situation did end with an unfortunate fall. We have not seen this behaviour at all since starting him on a gut supplement and showing him how to regulate himself and have faith in his rider again and I truly beleive it was just a case of one too many things feeling wrong for him in a new home.
I truly beleive this horse would find a way to jump the moon if you asked him too, he just needs to find his right person. He is easy to catch, ties all day, just requires gentle reminders to respect your space every now and then on the ground.
