Full Lease/Buy in Port Macquarie.
Captain is a 15.3hh 16yo Bay Thoroughbred.
Due to relocating interstate for university, I’m seeking a lease for my horse, with the preference that he remains at Port Macquarie Horse Riding Centre, where he is currently agisted. Will consider off-property lease and purchase for the right home.
The lease arrangement would require the lessee to cover all ongoing costs (feed, agistment, farrier, etc.).
He is an all-rounder; as well as having participated in years of weekly group and private lessons and general riding, he has competed in show jumping and dressage at events including Hastings Showjumping, Hastings Dressage, and ISHIE.
He presents well on the flat with a lovely frame and has previously jumped up to 90cm, though he has had a break from jumping and would need a gradual return to work.
He is calm on trails, or pulling out of the paddock and working with in an arena, also very well behaved to ride bareback, through water, on the beach etc.
His only vice would be his hot moments when jumping or riding in a large open paddock as he can get very keen (as I learnt to ride him, he did lock onto jumps, dash forward / run off with me until I learnt how to control him and keep him steady) this can be off-putting for an inexperienced rider and requires a confident rider to keep him calm and steady.
He is well-mannered and safe on trails (roads, water, varied terrain.) Amazing with kids and beginners, adjusting to be calm and steady under close supervision.
Best suited to a confident intermediate rider, interested in dressage, general riding and potentially jumping if you're willing to learn him and confident managing occasional forward/hot moments.
He has an amazing temperament and personality and has always been great company, such a sweet horse. Ultimately a genuine, kind horse looking for a consistent rider to enjoy him.
