Rusty is approx measured at 16.2hh, 2017 thoroughbred gelding. Formerly known as “Smoken Haze” and retired sound in March 2023.
He has above average paces on the flat and shows the potential to be a brilliant ott dressage mount or show hack for an ambitious rider. He shows lovely elevation in the trot and has developed a steady uphill canter. Leg yields have been established and he shows lengthened strides in trot and canter. He can be ridden on a loose rein and in contact but a rider with an independent seat.
Rusty gains his confidence from his rider especially out and about and does well when he is given clear aids and he knows what to do and who to focus on. He is a very affectionate horse with a real will to please and incredibly trainable nature.
At a previous home Rusty was exposed to roads, traffic and trails. They had him going over showjumps ans he showed good promise and a bold nature. He also attended the Royal Adelaide show blacksmiths competition in September 2023.
He was not bothered by their children, chickens, goats, cars, trucks, lawn mowers etc
He has a quality foundation installed and is ready for his next rider to mould him into whatever they want him to be
