Sonny is a 6-year-old, 16.1hh Standardbred gelding looking for a new home beyond racing. A strong, well-put-together horse, his connections describe him as calm, easy to work with and having good ground manners.
Sonny suffered from a ligament injury 3 years ago and was properly spelled and rehabbed before returning successfully to the racetrack. Sonny retired completely sound due to his owner downscaling. He has no known vices or current health issues reported, is not described as spooky and has been exposed to dogs, farm animals, machinery, vehicles and children.
Sonny hasn’t been ridden and will need someone with experience to guide his transition to life under saddle. Having enjoyed eight weeks of spelling, he’s ready to find someone to help him begin his next chapter.
Photos and descriptions for each horse have been supplied by the nominating owner.
