Safe, sound and reliable

Tolerant of rider and handler mistakes

Willing and educated

Introduction:

Karakabeel, known as Krackerjack, is a well-educated and versatile OTTB with the sort of real-world exposure, rideability and safety that make him a very appealing all-round option. He has been ridden by teenage girls, taken out and about for dressage, jumping and trails, and is described as an easy, hop-on-and-go type after a spell. Krackerjack would suit a rider wanting a kind, established gelding to enjoy across flatwork, hacking, jumping, pony club, interschools and general all-round riding.

Education, skills and experience:

Krackerjack’s flatwork is well established, including shoulder-in, leg-yield, collection and lengthen, automatic flying changes and the beginnings of canter pirouettes at home. He is jumping up to 90cm at home and competed up to 75cm at local competitions.

Krackerjack has done low level cross-country schooling, is confident with working equitation-style obstacles, and has been out trail riding, including beach and river swims. He is happy near cattle and sheep, leads other horses, lunges quietly and copes with farm life, busy roads, dogs and fireworks. He is generally worked in a snaffle and is EA registered.

General demeanour under saddle:

Under saddle, Krackerjack is willing, responsive and tolerant of rider errors, with the ability to come together and collect. He doesn't have any vices. Krackerjack can get a little keen when fit and jumping regularly but he is still safe and completely manageable in a kimblewick or universal.

Current workload / fitness:

Krackerjack is currently in work and ridden three or more times per week. He is not currently competing and does not need to be kept in full work to remain reliable; he is safe to hop straight on after a spell.

Handling:

On the ground, Krackerjack is unflappable, easy to catch, lead, tie and manage. He self-loads and travels calmly, stands quietly on the truck or float and unloads sensibly. He is straightforward to clip and wash, reliable for the farrier and good for the vet. He is currently shod.
