JAZZIE | A MOTHER’S DREAM PONY — ONE IN A MILLION

$12,500 AUD — QLD

Jazzy is a much-loved little pony who has been part of our family and riding school for approximately six years. She really is the kind of pony every horsey parent hopes to find — helping little riders take their first steps, gain confidence and progress to riding independently.

Before coming to us, Jazzy had been used for lead-rein showing and children’s equestrian activities. Since joining Penrice Park Equestrian, she has been ridden and competed by our own children as well as teaching young riders of different ages and abilities.

Well-mouthed and responsive, Jazzy can be ridden independently at walk, trot and canter by appropriately sized children. She has been ridden by children as young as two and has taken children as young as three out trail riding. She knows her job both in and outside the arena.

Riding experience

• Established riding school pony, from lead-rein work to independent walk, trot and canter

• Ridden and competed by our own children

• Lead-rein showing and children’s events

• Trail riding with children as young as three

• Experienced with young riders and everyday riding school activities

When ridden independently, Jazzy can occasionally test the boundaries of a less experienced little rider, as clever Shetlands sometimes do. This is generally managed with clear guidance from a knowledgeable adult; she does not need hours of lunging or preparation before riding.

Handling & care

Easy to catch, lead, tie up, groom, wash, saddle and bridle. Jazzy is accustomed to rugging, floating and routine farrier, dental and veterinary care. She is barefoot, with sound, well-maintained hooves and regular trimming. She is used to children being involved in her everyday care with adult supervision.

Hendra and 2-in-1 vaccinated, with routine dental and hoof care. Jazzy has a history of Queensland itch, managed with insect protection; her known history can be discussed with genuine buyers.

A mother’s dream pony and truly one in a million, Jazzy has been there for so many milestones with our own children and those she has taught. She is only offered for sale because Penrice Park Equestrian is heading in a different direction with our riding school. We are in no hurry and will be very particular about finding the right home.
