Introduction:
Wellbrook Finesse, known as Willow, is a striking rising 7yo Warmblood x Pinto mare by Wellbrook Fire and Ice. With a lovely temperament, athletic ability and a solid foundation, Willow presents as a fabulous young showjumper for a rider wanting a talented, versatile horse to continue progressing through the levels.
Currently competing to 1.05m and schooling to 1.10m, Willow combines a willing attitude with a bold, genuine jump and the sort of practical experience that makes her enjoyable both at home and out competing. She is a lovely prospect for a junior, young rider or amateur wanting a competitive horse without sacrificing the pleasure of everyday riding.
Education, skills and experience:
Willow has been thoughtfully produced with a focus on showjumping. She has competed to 1.05m and schooled 1.10m at Freshmans, including with a rider returning to jumping at this height.
She is bold and keen over cross-country fences and has enjoyed extensive trail and beach riding, both alone and in company. Willow has also been used for ranch sorting, mustering and cattle work, giving her a fabulous variety of experience outside the competition arena.
She is accustomed to busy farm environments, livestock, dogs, fireworks and water, including beaches, dams and rivers. This broad background, combined with her showjumping education, makes her an enjoyable and useful all-rounder with plenty of potential in the jumping ring.
General demeanour under saddle:
Under saddle, Willow is willing, responsive and soft and light in the bridle. She goes happily in a snaffle, is tolerant of rider mistakes and puts in as much effort as her rider asks.
She is generally calm and sensible, both at home and at competitions, and does not have separation anxiety. Willow is brave to a fence and enjoys jumping. Like many young performance horses, she may occasionally have a look at something unfamiliar, but is otherwise straightforward and reliable. She is vice free.
Current workload / fitness:
Willow is currently competing and is ridden three or more times per week. She does not require daily riding to remain sensible and is safe to hop straight on after a spell.
