20yo Sweet, forward moving, well educated, reliable, safe mother’s dream. WBx TB. She is perfect for someone wanting an honest, educated mount to learn the ropes on.
No buck, bite, bolt, kick or any nasties, she will stand calmly at the float or in a yard all day. She’s great for the farrier (has always been barefoot with us with great feet), vet and regular has chiro and body work.
She has an expressive, flowy trot, a balanced canter and is educated in a nice dressage test competing with us up to Novice, but trained to medium and obtains scores of early to mid 60’s. Smooth flying changes, walk to canter, and has schooled half pass, extensions etc.
Has years of experience under her belt from dressage, showjumping, eventing, combined training and a number of both Pony Club state and Interschool events, always looking after her riders. Has take our daughter from 60cm to 1.25m.
Jumping is her forte and she is a competitively, straight forward jumper, flying over both show jumps or XC jumps with no spooks or refusals. Great with water and ditch jumps. Currently competing and training at 80-90 in eventing. She’s ridden in a soft rubber trust snaffle bit in all disciplines. No leverage bits, spurs, whips or hidez hoods required. She is as straight forward as they come.
Whilst we have competed mainly in eventing, combined training and showjumping with her, she has is a regular a Pony Club rally days and has even come first and second at the 2 gymkhanas we’ve entered her in a competitive and large class.
She is currently in our herd of 5 horses, where she sits about middle rank of the herd and whilst she is calm away from them, we would prefer her to go to home where she also has paddock mates.
While Amina has been the perfect combined training and eventing horse for us, we feel at her age, our schedule of eventing every weekend, combined with clinics and lessons is a lot. We can see after a week of eventing that she really needs a day to recover and it’s only for this reason that my daughter wants to bring a young horse on and up the ranks.
Still very much competitive, but we’d prefer at the lower levels due to her age.
As quiet and reliable as she is, she is fairly forward-moving, and as 15.3h horse, we wouldn’t recommend her for a complete beginner, but she’d be very suitable for a child moving off a pony into their first horse, or a teen wanting a safe mount to take her up the levels.
Also suitable as a ladies mount for trail or pleasure riding.
If you’re looking for a genuine, experienced horse that’s done it all, and is the same to ride every day or pull her out of the paddock after 6 months, she’s your girl.
The bad bits? She’s a mare. So she does put her ears back at the boys when they’re fed together at dinner time. Is more of an ears back “get away from me” grunter, than a squealer though! She’s currently in light work once a week and paddock condition. I am coach and only buy quiet and safe horses for my kids. We don't need any surprises.
