Chilli is a smart, willing young Quarter Horse mare with a great mind and plenty of try. Chilli is a homebred baby with impeccable breeding. She was advertised at the start of the year but sustained a muscle injury prior to sale. Injury can be rehabbed for recovery but I do not have the time to do so in winter, so selling as a broodmare with potential for a riding career once rehabbed. Happy to talk to prospective buyers in detail and provide vet information. My loss is your gain.
Prior to this, Chilli had been lightly started with 7 rides under her belt- has had flawless behaviour with each ride. Her 3rd, 4th and 5th rides were all outings into the bush, into town along the busy highway and into the high country as both a riding horse and pack horse. Chilli has been swimming in the lake, into dams and walked over creek crossings and through tight and narrow mountain trails, jumped over logs and ditches, led off other horses etc. Exposed to the busy farm life including traffic, machinery, ATV’s, motorbikes, chainsaws, children, donkeys, sheep, dogs, pigs, cattle etc. Chilli has also been taken to a couple of competitions as a buddy horse to observe the busy atmosphere and handled it well.
She will make the perfect little horse for anything you choose- campdrafting, feedlotting, ranch riding, team penning, trail riding and jumping. Or she will would make a wonderful broodmare with her breeding and lovely ground manners and personality.
Chilli is great on her feet and will make the ideal cow horse and allrounder. Both her parents have been in the family for 10-15 years and have been amazing horses with temperaments to die for. Over their lifetime successfully competing in all western horse sports and in later years handled and ridden by children and beginners. Chilli’s dam spent many years mustering, feedlotting and droving and is still the most amazing bombproof mare and always my go to horse to ride. The sire has competed in cutting, team penning and campdrafting and has always had a beautiful quiet nature, being handled by women and children his whole life.
Chilli is good to hard tie and will stand all day, she has also been high lined overnight when camping. Good to saddle, brush, trim, rug, wash, hog mane with clippers etc. She will happily self load into the float. She has had extensive groundwork and desensitising, led in hand over trot poles, jumps, logs, through hanging streamers, dragged bags off her and bounced a big blow up ball around and underneath her. Chilli has a lovely puppy dog nature and loves to be included in everything that you’re doing, she would follow you around all day.
Chilli has had a great start to life with exposure that’s set her up for the future. She is a kind and willing mare with a sound mind.
