Purchased from a reputable OTTB retraining establishment, Keke has proven herself to be an exceptional young mare with all the ingredients to excel in whichever discipline her future rider chooses.
A true warmblood imposter, Keke possesses three naturally expressive, floaty paces and a beautiful light contact. She is established on the flat and is currently progressing through lateral work, showing excellent trainability and willingness to learn. Keke is a forward-thinking, sensitive ride in all the right ways. She is responsive to light aids, appreciates a soft hand and balanced rider, and offers a wonderfully connected feel under saddle. She is not hot, strong or difficult—simply educated and attentive to her rider.
Over fences, Keke has shown enormous potential. She approaches her work with confidence and curiosity, happily clearing anything put in front of her while maintaining a steady, rhythmical canter. She’s very much a “point and shoot” type rather than a strong or rushing ride, making her an exciting prospect for someone wanting to pursue showjumping or eventing. While Keke can occasionally look to her rider for reassurance in unfamiliar situations, she has never displayed any dirty, dangerous or silly behaviour. Her kind and genuine nature shines through in everything she does, and she consistently tries her heart out for her person.
What truly sets Keke apart is her temperament. She is one of the most sensible, non-marey mares I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Whether she’s in full work or has been spelling for weeks, she remains exactly the same horse. She can be left in the paddock and hopped straight back on without fuss, making her an incredibly practical and enjoyable partner. On the ground, Keke is an affectionate, smoochy mare with a hilarious personality that keeps everyone smiling. She forms strong bonds with her people and is genuinely a joy to have around.
I truly believe Keke has the talent, intelligence and temperament to make an outstanding competitive mount, Pony Club partner, Adult Riding Club horse or simply a wonderful pleasure horse for someone wanting a quality all-rounder.
This is an extremely difficult sale and is only due to personal circumstances changing. Her home is of the utmost importance, and I am in no rush to see her go. Keke is genuinely one of those once-in-a-lifetime horses. She is kind, talented, trainable and incredibly special, and I have no doubt she has a very bright future ahead of her.
