With a heavy heart, I have made the difficult decision to offer Baloo for sale. I have owned him since I was a young teenager, and during his time with me Baloo has done a bit of everything. He attended pony club monthly for years, clinics, local shows and rodeos, sporting events, working equitation, low level show jumping, cattle work, beach rides, rides along the main rode and endless trail riding both alone and in groups. He absolutely loves the water and will happily go through anything you point home at.
Baloo has previously had time out of work and has spent time with a trainer strengthening his foundation. When I had more time, he was ridden everyday. Even when taken to new environments, he remains calm and well mannered. He does not become forward, reactive or looky and is a pleasure to take out.
He is easy to catch, trim, worm, lunge, rug and float although he hasn’t been on one for a few months.
Here are a few things worth mentioning. Baloo can be head shy to being ear twitched before I owned him. This has significantly improved over the years and with time with a trainer it now rarely causes an issue although he occasionally will lift his head when something is put over his ear. If he has had an extended period out of work he can throw in a hump or two which is why I routinely lunge him before hopping on after he’s had some time off. He is also slightly pigeon-toed his front left but this has never affected his performance or soundness and has never shown any signs of discomfort.
Baloo has been ridden by my seven-year-old cousin had a walk and trot and by my beginner partner at a walk both in an open paddock they didn’t canter because of their level of experience.
He is more whoa than go while still being responsive to his ridders aids. He is not lazy or stubborn and would suit a confident or intermediate rider wanting a versatile all rounder to enjoy or continue competing.
This sale is for absolutely no fault of his own. I simply have multiple horses, a demanding job and study full-time.
His home is far more important than the price and he will only be sold to a forever home. He will not be sold site unseen or to an unsuitable rider.
