Introduction:
Finch Farm Whitaker, known as Whitaker, is a modern 16.2hh, 8yo Warmblood gelding by Massimo Quality out of Weinfee, by Weinzauber. EA Life registered and located in Warwick QLD, Whitaker is a purpose-bred showjumping horse with the scope, type and talent to appeal to a serious rider.
With current competition form, placings to 1.05m, experience to 1.10m and a clear round record at the 2026 QLD State SJ Titles, Whitaker presents as an exciting prospect for a capable showjumping rider or professional program. He has the breeding, conformation, temperament and jump to continue developing into a competitive horse in the right hands.
Education, skills and experience:
Whitaker was started as a 5yo and has had three short annual breaks to allow him time to mature.
He has competed to 1.10m and has recently been brought back to 1.00m to refine his technique between fences, with encouraging recent results. Significant results include:
Clear every round at the 2026 QLD State SJ Titles
Stanthorpe Show 2026 — 4th 105cm
Allora Show 2026 — 4th 90–100cm and 5th 105cm
DDSJ Easter Champs 2026 — 6th 90/100cm AM5
On the flat, Whitaker works in correct self-carriage with established leg-yields and flying changes. He is very willing to jump, brave and is not a refuser. He will take off, even from a deep or longer distance, which adds to his appeal for a rider who enjoys a genuine, committed jumper.
General demeanour under saddle:
Whitaker has the feel and attitude of a serious showjumping horse — forward, sharp, responsive and keen to do his job.
He jumps beautifully from a good canter, holds the rhythm and is very rideable when the rider is organised. He is responsive and adjustable to the half halt, and he rewards calm, confident riding.
Like many talented young Warmbloods, Whitaker thrives with a rider who is quiet, organised and relaxed. He can become a little hot and heavy in the bridle if the rider is tense or unsettled.
