4-year-old Bay Thoroughbred Gelding
Spike is a quiet, sensible 4-year-old bay Thoroughbred gelding pull out of the paddock and get straight on type with a great foundation and a willing attitude.
He has been extensively trail ridden through open paddocks, state parks, and creek crossings, as well as being used for mustering. He has a lovely soft snaffle mouth and is responsive without being hot or heavy.
Spike is happy to ride out alone or with other horses and is equally content being paddocked by himself or in a herd. He is also very easy to catch in the paddock.
Nothing seems to bother him. He confidently walks over tarps, is unfazed by balls being thrown around him, happily stands while you open and play with an umbrella, can be ridden bareback, can get gates off him and is hobble trained, leads off buggy’s and quads
He is good for the farrier and to be wormed, rugged, tied up, floats and trucks beautifully and is up to date with worming, vaccinations, and farrier care.
He is a great doer and lives off grass.
He has also been introduced to jumping and naturally makes a lovely shape over a fence, showing plenty of potential for the future.
With his quiet nature, athleticism, and solid foundation, Spike would suit someone looking for a genuine all-rounder. He has the potential to excel in any chosen discipline, from eventing, show jumping and dressage through to team penning and other cow horse events.
