Eddie is a rising 13-year-old HSH gelding standing at 15hh. He’s a solidly built boy with the looks to turn heads. Whilst he is not currently registered he most certainly can be if the buyer chooses to do so.
Bred and broken by Wayne Caslick, Eddie has the foundation work to do any desired discipline along with quality breeding.
Dam: Rocombole Edna
Sire: Cas Sir Ray Buck
Eddie was originally purchased as a project horse to educate, offer some miles and sell onwards. His sale is to no fault of his own.
Eddie is currently in full work with a lady and gentleman rider and has competed at jackpots around NSW. He shows real talent and interest in barrel racing where he’s proving to be quick, soft and responsive. He has been used in the rope pen most recently where he has been used to line out the breakaway calves, break in the team roping steers and has been used to heel the dummy where he shows ability to rate and interest in learning the job.
He is a soft, incredibly athletic fellow with plenty of motor and a solid stop. He’s a forward moving gelding who does best with consistent work under a calm, experienced rider. He has established 3 smooth gaits, rollbacks and flying changes along with a soft, responsive stop. In the right hands, Eddie will go on to have a very successful ridden career.
He’s a respectful gentleman on the ground, stands quietly for the farrier (currently barefoot), he is easy to catch, rug, worm, bath, float, lead (can be led off or lead off another horse.) Since being with myself he has shown no desire to buck, rear, bolt or girthiness. He will happily stand tied to a fence or trailer all day without any pawing or pulling back.
He is not mate sour and will happily float and ride both alone and with other horses. As previously stated, he has been out and about at jackpots competing in barrel racing, has lined the breakaway roping and been on trail rides alone and with company. He has also been popped over a few small logs here and there without any dramas. Eddie is also not fussed by having dogs around him either.
Eddie has recently had his teeth floated, wormed and vaccinated along with a recent trimming from the farrier and body work from the chiropractor.
Vet checks are most welcome at buyers’ expense; a vet certificate can be supplied along with sale.
Whilst Eddie is quiet, well mannered and established, he is NOT a beginner’s horse nor a child’s pony although with time, he does have the potential to be. He will only go to an experienced home with a confident jockey as he can be quirky and at times strong. He is the perfect mount for someone looking to transition into barrel racing or a confident teenager who wants to take their educating skills to the next level.
