Banjo is a quality 7-year-old Stock Horse × Quarter Horse gelding looking for his forever home. Broken in as a 3-year-old, he has been primarily used for farm work and trail riding through the mountains. He is a kind, sensitive horse who forms a strong partnership with his rider and responds well to calm, confident handling.
Banjo has been exposed to a wide variety of experiences, including cattle days, low-level Stockman's Challenges, gymkhanas, obstacle days, pub rides and jumping lessons. He is happy to ride out alone or in a group and is a genuine, willing horse that enjoys having a job.
He has exceptional ground manners and is easy to handle. Banjo:
Loads easily onto floats, trucks and stock crates.
Hard ties without issue.
Leads confidently from motorbikes and side-by-sides.
Is good to catch, shoe and rug.
Respects fences and yards.
Banjo has been ridden on roads and is accustomed to tractors, motorbikes and working dogs. He is happy to stand while a whip is cracked, has completed plenty of river crossings and has the stamina to go all day. He moves well off the leg, side-passes and is currently progressing nicely with his rollbacks and spins.
Banjo is best suited to a capable, confident rider who can continue his education and bring out his full potential. Due to his sensitive nature, he performs best when ridden consistently (approximately 2–5 times per week).
This is a genuine, versatile young gelding with a solid foundation and plenty of ability. He will only be sold to the right home, as finding the perfect match is our priority.
