Stunning Arab gelding, 15hh Bay with white blaze $2,000 (Registered) "Distinctive Juiel" Crabbit blood lines Sire GAI El JULLYEN (US) dam WAR-EL KARA-MIA (AU),
Easy keeper, lovely natured, zero injuries, never been unwell, never done endurance, has done trail riding only plus natural horsemanship training and orienteering days with riding club SCATER.
Only selling due to not enough time to ride him regularly anymore which is what suits him best. He would benefit from a confident rider and the more he is ridden, the better he gets. He is used to fairly long rides (10klms+), at least 2 -3 times weekly, and prefers riding with one other horse, as in a group he gets a bit anxious about getting bunched up. He is not a kicker or biter.
He steps out well without being too forward. I am selling because I no longer have time to ride him a couple of times a week, which is what suits him best. He has only been ridden in the arena occasionally for the last couple of years, so will need a confident rider to take him out on the trails and get him back into a routine.
He's really good in a herd or on his own, and he loves miniature ponies, he's middle of the pecking order. He's great on fences, and has no vices.
He floats well and self loads. He is great for the farrier and has been ridden shod and bare foot plus with Scoot boots.
He has also been ridden with and without a bit. I like to ride him bareback in the arena.
He is easy to catch, worm and do anything with.
He has not been jumped, but is happy to jump a small log or small jump etc without an issues. He doesn't pigroot or buck.
He has had lots of natural horsemanship training (Downunder Horsemanship) and backs up nicely to the wiggle of a rope etc. He can side pass, flex and one rein stop.
His ideal rider would be a kind, gentle, experienced rider, with some training ability to enjoy all his natural horsemanship talents. The more he is ridden the better he gets. He likes forest best and will drink out of puddles, and dams, but won't go in one. He has crossed creeks, but is better led as he tries to jump them.
He ties up really well, and can spend an hour at a time tied to the float with his hay bag quite happily at training days.
He is currently in paddock condition, although he always looks magnificent, and is a show quality horse, having won a championship in his younger years.
He is up to date with all vaccinations, Hendra, 2 in 1 and has just had a dental, and has great teeth. He has perfectly straight legs and great conformation. He has never had any health issues at all since I have owned him since age 6. He is now 19yrs. He was gelding at age 6, and has sired foals, but he is totally safe paddocked with mares, and does not try to mount them and is not dominant to other geldings at all.
Currently fed 1 scoop chaff, 1/2 scoop copra with minerals, salt etc daily. He gets hay in winter as well, plus cracked lupins if he is in work. He is an easy keeper.
I do have a leather (Oz West) trail riding saddle (half breed leather) that was made for him if you are interested $2,500. (they are $4,500 new) see photos.
I would like $2,000 for him but may be negotiable to the right home. You are welcome to test ride him in the arena first to see if he is what you are looking for, and once you are sure I can float him to his new home. I would like to keep in contact to make sure he is happy with his new owner, so I would prefer to sell him in south Qld. Please note that he is not a beginners horse, thank you.
