Beautifully bred by Mary Triggs at Aloha, "Poppet" is a sweet, willing and safe mount who has a fantastic foundation to go on with.
Poppet is the perfect lady's mount or interschools combined training/dressage horse. She's easy to handle on the ground and very sensible under saddle whether you're at a clinic, a private lesson or on the trail.
Poppet has been brought back into work over the last 4 weeks with a trainer, working on basic flatwork and simple changes as well as putting her through some dressage tests. She has also been ridden out on the trail last week and didn't miss a beat, crossing creeks, trotting over down trees and up and down rocky hills. This week she has a beginner 10yo on her walking up the road off lead.
Poppet has been mostly barefoot (ridden in boots) since the end of 2022, and has excellent feet, trimmed every 4 weeks. She is good to shoe and has had 2 sets of composite shoes nailed on in 2025 for endurance rides.
Up-to-date with teeth and vax (done by vet in March). Has a splint in right fore, which was present when I bought her, and I can provide recent x-rays.
Poppet is the ideal horse for someone who wants to do a bit of everything. She floats well, is happy to be yarded overnight at events and is easy to manage on the ground.
She is a delight to have around, and this is a very hard sale but I have other endurance horses in work and not enough time for her.

In the short time she was with me her longitudinal flexion improved greatly she became a lot freer in her shoulders and was able to smoothly change lateral flexion while maintaining impulsion. Poppet had no problems not matter what I threw at her and approached everything with a can do attitude. Overall she’s a fuss free easy horse to ride while still being a lot of fun."
